Gareth Nash Ceramics

I am currently researching the history of the horse in ceramics. I have been exploring how other cultures throughout history have built and embellished clay horses. How ceramics has recorded their relationship with man from religious ceremonies and connections with the afterlife through to sports and toy figures of today. This research helps me to build my own ceramic horses and find solutions to glazing and making problems. I combine this research with exploring the plasticity of clay and how I can express human emtions through the symbolism of the horse and side saddle.
